Modern Healthcare (9/18, Cohrs, Subscription Publication) reported that on Friday, HHS “finalized rulemaking that aims to increase living organ donations by providing more financial support to donors.” Under the agency’s proposals, “living donors would be reimbursed for the expenses they take on while they’re hospitalized and recovering, such as lost wages or childcare.” Modern Healthcare added, “More donors would qualify for the reimbursement, as the threshold for eligibility will be raised from 300% of the HHS Poverty Guidelines to 350%.”
