The Florida Society of Nephrology is excited to announce Women in Nephrology has endorsed WIN Florida their the 1st State chapter! The goal of WIN is to promote professional development for women in nephrology in addition, to advocating education and research relevant to women’s health in our field. MissionWIN was founded in 1983 by women in the field of Nephrology. The overriding goal was to develop and provide mentors to women in the field. WIN strives to aid women in developing exciting careers in the field of renal disease. WIN also advocates within the nephrology community for education and research relevant to women. Over the years, WIN has expanded its purpose to mentoring both professional men and women in the field of Nephrology. Mentorship/CommunityWIN provides access to senior women and men in the field of Nephrology who are motivated to help mentor more junior physicians and scientists. In addition, WIN strives to help women advance in the field of Nephrology. WIN encourages research to develop a better understanding of the female kidney and improve the health of women. Career GuidanceWIN can provide you with a community of female MDs and PhDs in Nephrology to help you achieve your professional goals. From 1999 - 2014, WIN sponsored a 1-day Professional Development Seminar at the ASN Kidney Week. EducationDuring the annual ASN Kidney Week, WIN sponsors a luncheon lecture, by a well-known speaker, in memory of Dr. Nancy Gary, WIN co-founder and first President. WIN has also organized a scientific symposium at the ASN Kidney Week meeting in past years. |
