Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, announced that he has renewed the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency declaration. This renewal will be effective April 21, 2021 and will extend current Public Health Emergency flexibility another 90 days from that date, to July 20, 2021.
This means that the current rules and guidelines regarding reporting virtual visits, telephone management and other telehealth benefits that were relaxed during the PHE will remain in effect through most of July.
